Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Kiffa Potable Water Supply Project Held by Mauritanian Government

On 14 December 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kiffa Potable Water Supply Project in Mauritania was held with great pomp. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of Mauritania, Her Excellency Ms. Amal Mint Maouloud, Minister of Water Resources, as well as multiple senior government officials and representatives of the project’s financiers, including the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD).

In her speech, Minister Amal Mint Maouloud stated that the project will benefit more than 180,000 residents and emphasized its significant role in improving people’s livelihoods and promoting regional economic development.

Our company is responsible for Lot 1 of the project, which primarily consists of the construction of a water intake on the Senegal River and of a 50,000 m³/day water treatment plant, associated with sedimentation basins, lift pumping stations, buffer storage tanks, and the installation of 7 kilometers of DN 800 ductile iron pipes.
